Candied Chestnuts Glazed, 11, Vacuum-Packed Tin Marrons glacés 260g Clement Faugier

Candied chestnuts are without question a labor of love. The chestnuts are first sorted to eliminate those not perfectly round or smooth. They are then boiled, peeled by hand, and sorted once again. Finally, the chestnuts are cooked for two days in rich vanilla syrup until the flavor seeps into the very heart of the chestnut. The round box contains 11 candied chestnuts.

Though expensive these are many times better than many of the cheaper varieties which parade as marrons glacés but are chestnuts coated with icing sugar as opposed to real candied chestnuts.
